China’s medical device industry began to develop in the 1980s, and the overall development of the industry has been relatively fast, especially since entering the 21st century, with the aging of the population and the significant increase in health care awareness, the medical device industry as a whole has entered a phase of rapid growth. In this environment, in September 2014, China Medical Devices Industry Association initiated the China Medical Devices Industry Confidence Index research, and the full version of the report was released in December for the first time, which is also China’s first medical devices industry confidence index, the full report can be obtained by clicking on the end of the article “read the original text” to fill out the questionnaire.
This year, the industry has changed a lot, and it’s also the 10th anniversary of the release of the index, the ESG Task Force of the China Medical Devices Industry Association (CMDA) has joined hands with the Home of Devices, the Medical Device Innovation Network, IVD Information, the Thousand Horses Medical Devices Marketing Cloud, the Sellers of Devices and the Medical Devices Distributors’ Alliance to jointly promote this research, and we ask for your support!

The total confidence index of China’s medical device industry is relatively high, and people are optimistic about the development of the medical device industry
According to international practice, the confidence index of China’s medical device industry takes values between 0 and 200. 100 is the median value, indicating that the respondent’s confidence (or sentiment) is a neutral attitude. 0 indicates extreme pessimism, while 200 reflects an extremely optimistic survey. The results show that the average total confidence index of China’s medical device industry is 143.14, which shows that people are more optimistic about the future development of the medical device industry.

Respondents from different sub-industries have higher total confidence in China’s medical device industry, with the Surgical Interventions & Implants industry having the highest total confidence index.
According to the data, respondents from different sub-industries have high confidence in China’s medical device industry, with the highest confidence index in the Surgical Interventions and Implants industry at 149.52, followed by the Medical Polymer Materials and Products industry at 146.67, and the third in the Dressings and Sanitary Materials industry at 146.35.
